The government has announced the JobMaker Plan as a key element of its Economic Recovery Plan for Australia. The goal of the new incentive for businesses “JobMaker Hiring Credit” is to help accelerate growth in the employment of young people. This initiative, which is still subject to the passage of legislation, will grant eligible employers for each new job they create over the 12 months from 7 October 2020, $200 per week for employees 16 to 29 years old, or $100 per week for employees 30-35 years old that are eligible.

To find out more about the JobMaker Hiring Credit, refer to the JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme page on the ATO website.
